This project will include design and construction of a new aircraft deicing pad support facility for the Taxiway L and Runway 34R deicing pads. Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispensing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. Bid documents are anticipated to be available mid February 2013 pending approval from Airport legal counsel of contract documents to include an ordinance amending Section 3l.24.115, Salt Lake City Code, to clarify application of bid criteria for City funded building improvement and Public Works projects.

Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispensing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on May 8, 2013. The bid opening for this project is scheduled for May 29, 2013.

6/20/13
This project will include design and construction of a new aircraft deicing pad support facility for the Taxiway L and Runway 34R deicing pads. Work will include site grading, site utilities, site paving, glycol truck fueling facilities, glycol dispensing facilities, and construction of a support building. The support building will include deicing pad control facilities, glycol storage/mixing facilities, a locker room, a break room, and offices for deicing personnel. The bid opening for this project was held on May 29, 2013. Bids are currently being evaluated.

9/12/13
A notice to proceed for this project was issued to Allstate Construction on July 29, 2013. Structural fill has placed and compacted. The contractor has completed 85% of the excavation for the footings. Submittals are currently being prepared by the contractor for review and approval by the Airport.

10/10/13
The water lines have been installed across the road of Taxiway L. The contractor is in the process of excavating for the building foundations. Approximately fifty percent of the excavation is complete. The contractor is placing structural fill within the excavations and compacting in preparation for forming the concrete footings and foundations. The utility work on the site has started and the new water line has been extended to the deicing pad support roadway.

01/08/14
The Contractor has completed the footings for the building. Work has started for the masonry walls and is approximately 60% complete. The Contractor has started installing the framing of the steel structure. The footings and columns for the canopy have been installed and the Contractor is ready to place the concrtete for the tank footings.

2/13/14
The contractor has completed the masonry walls and is working on the structural framing of the office area. Concrete has been placed in the office area floor and in the vehicle storage bay. The plumbing and electrical underground work is approximately 80% complete. The footings and columns for the canopy bay are completed and the contractor is framing the structure.

3/13/14
The contractor has completed the steel framing and decking, and installed the diesel tank. The contractor continues to install the exterior wall panels. The electrical and plumbing underground work is on-going. Installation of the fire sprinkler system is currently taking place. Due to weather conditions, the contractor has not performed any civil work.

4/14/14
The Contractor has started the roof installation. Electrical work for the glycol system has begun. Other work taking place includes window installation, framing of the canopy, and plumbing and mechanical for the building.

5/14/14
The  Contractor has completed 90% of the roof installation. Welding of the underground glycol lines is taking place. The framing for the canopy is on-going and the Contractor is placing electrical, mechanical and plumbing rough-ins.

07/31/14
The Contractor has completed the installation of the tile and restroom partitions. Grading of the site is currently taking place. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins is on-going. The Contractor is installing the fascia and soffit material for the canopy.
