Preparation work for the Salt Lake City International Airport’s Terminal Redevelopment Program (TRP) kicks off May 1 with utility work in the economy parking lot. For a few weeks, a system of “car corrals” will be used to block parking a section at a time in the lot. Each corral will fence in about 300 cars and one side will be open for cars to exit. New cars won’t be allowed in. Within three weeks, the section is anticipated to be free of parked cars.  The area will then be closed off and the utility work will begin. This process will be repeated to free other sections of the lot as the work progresses. This staging process will not impact lot access or customer use. Shuttle bus service will operate normally.
