Passenger Traffic is Gaining at Salt Lake City International Airport

February 1, 2010 - Salt Lake City International Airport served 20,451,178 passengers in 2009.  Passenger numbers have steadily increased each month since June 2009.  The total number of passengers is a 1.63% decrease over last year's 20,790,400.

April 14, 2009 - The Salt Lake City Department of Airports has received $8,570,924 in economic recovery funds from the federal government. The funds will be used to construct a portion of a taxiway that will set the stage for new deicing facilities at Salt Lake City International Airport

Airport Holds Emergency Exercise

September 15, 2008 - The Salt Lake City Department of Airports will hold a full-scale emergency exercise on Tuesday, September 16, at 9:00 a.m. to practice response to an aircraft incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires airports to conduct this type of drill tri-annually.

National Air Service Reduction Reflected in Salt Lake City's September Schedule

September 3, 2008 - The national decrease in air carrier service this quarter has resulted in an approximate 13.4% decrease in daily departures and about a 12.3% decrease in daily seats available from Salt Lake City.

Airport to Close Middle Traffic Lanes for Resurfacing

September 5, 2008 - The three lanes in the middle section of the road that passes in front of Salt Lake City International Airport will be closed for resurfacing starting at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8. The closure is anticipated to continue for a week to ten days.
