February 1, 2010 - Salt Lake City International Airport served 20,451,178 passengers in 2009. Passenger numbers have steadily increased each month since June 2009. The total number of passengers is a 1.63% decrease over last year's 20,790,400.

September 2, 2009 - A new walking path from the economy (long-term) parking lot to the terminals at SLCIA has been installed. A resurfacing project has begun in the 10,040 stall parking lot. A perimeter fence is being installed around the lot.

October 23, 2008 - Salt Lake City International was ranked 8th in the nation in Conde' Nast Traveler Magazine's Eleventh Annual Business travel Awards in their October Issue.
September 15, 2008 - The Salt Lake City Department of Airports will hold a full-scale emergency exercise on Tuesday, September 16, at 9:00 a.m. to practice response to an aircraft incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires airports to conduct this type of drill tri-annually.
September 3, 2008 - The national decrease in air carrier service this quarter has resulted in an approximate 13.4% decrease in daily departures and about a 12.3% decrease in daily seats available from Salt Lake City.
September 5, 2008 - The three lanes in the middle section of the road that passes in front of Salt Lake City International Airport will be closed for resurfacing starting at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8. The closure is anticipated to continue for a week to ten days.

NEW YORK, April 14, 2008 – Clear®, the fast pass for airport security, announced that it has been chosen to operate Clear lanes at Salt Lake City International Airport. The announcement comes on the heels of major Clear launches in Washington, DC and the San Francisco Bay Area. All airlines operating from Salt Lake City, and their passengers, will be able to use Clear’s fast pass lanes before this summer. Clear has now signed up over 140,000 people nationwide.
