Doing Business with the Airport
Educational Sessions Planned About Doing Business at The New SLC
The New SLC is still a few years away from opening its doors, but an orientation process geared towards concessions about doing business at the new Airport is about to begin.
The Salt Lake City Dept. of Airports is offering these sessions to help businesses understand what is required to operate a concession within the Terminal and Concourses at the Airport. The public solicitation process for selection of concessionaires at The New SLC will begin in early 2018.
Operating a business at the Airport is unique in that it is a city-owned facility that is largely regulated by the federal government in a highly-secure environment. In addition, there are limited opportunities for concessionaires to enter the Airport due to limited space, low turnover and long lease terms.
Two-hour community outreach sessions began in March, 2017, and are being repeated periodically throughout the year. Unless otherwise noted, the sessions will take place at the Airport Training and Activity Center (ATAC), 1911 North 2200 West (Google Map directions here). Additional sessions will be scheduled in September, October, November and December. Please check this web page for schedule changes, cancellations and/or additions. Following is the current schedule:
Thursday, March 1, 2018, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Please check the website a day before the scheduled time in the event there are any last minute changes)
The New SLC will include a new airport terminal, two concourses and a parking garage. The first phase of the new airport will be completed in 2020 with the second phase scheduled to be finished in 2023-24.
ATAC is an accessible facility. If you have questions about accommodations or anything regarding the community outreach sessions, contact Brad Wolfe at Brad.Wolfe@slcgov.com.
